AMARAN LEE KUAN YEW



Hak asasi, termasuklah kebebasan bersuara tidak sesuai di negara ini. Sekiranya pembangkang mendapat undi yang banyak, ia akan menjejaskan ekonomi negara. Usah rosakkan asas negara ini. Ingat bagaimana kerajaan telah bersusah payah untuk kita sampai ke tahap yang ada sekarang. Usah jejaskan aset, nilai hartanah dan peluang pekerjaan anda!

Fakta? Ya.

Ancaman? Ya.

Kempen Barisan Nasional? Tidak.

Ministers are unapologetic about constraints on civil liberties, warning that western-style multi-party democracy and freedom of speech are inappropriate for multiracial Singapore, which suffered inter-ethnic riots in the 1960s.
Lee Kuan Yew, Singapore’s first prime minister and the father of the present head of government, warned this week that a strong vote for the opposition could endanger the economic gains that have given the country western levels of income.
"Do not rock this foundation. Remember where Singapore came from and how difficult it was that we have got to where we are,” Mr Lee said. "In the heat and dust of this election, do not risk your assets, property values, job opportunities."
